New communities sprouting up from raw land aren’t a new sight anymore, but a new community with a brand new golf course is a rarity now. Bonita National Golf & Country Club is being created on the eastern most portion of available land on Bonita Beach Road. The golf course just opened in January and the first homes in the Lennar community will be occupied in about six months.

The 540-acre parcel is changing fast. Lennar broke ground in December 2013 and opened for sales in May 2014. They have already sold 80 residences. The community will have 1,600 front doors at buildout. The residences are a mixture of single family homes, coach homes, two story verandah condo homes and four story condos. There will be 800 residences with bundled golf. The other 800 homeowners will have a social membership.

Lennar plans to build an amenity center with a resort pool, tiki bar, tennis, pickleball, and a fitness center that will open in 2016. Future plans also include a full clubhouse with formal and grill dining and a pro shop. That amenity is expected to open in 2017.
Lennar wants the public to get a better look at the new community so they plan to showcase some of their model homes during the Lee County Building Industry Association’s Parade of Homes.
